multimedia storytelling with data and imagery

I make multimedia products that explore human connections — to each other and to our natural and built environment.

I've studied the large-scale evolution of Mars, developed algorithms for the automated detection of volcanic eruptions and flaring at gas fields, and made guesses about how much lava was moving in tubes vs on the surface in Hawaii. As a scientist at Axiom Data Science I worked on ocean, climate, and ice-related data projects to harvest and interactively show hundreds of continuously-updated environmental datasets. As an environmental and editorial photographer I try to capture art, details, and lived experiences, both others' and my own. As an artist, I try to create things that make people feel stuff.

I spend a lot of time trying to create magic with Python, Javascript, and the usual web languages.
